Wat Chedi Hoi (Bangkok) Featured
This a famous temple due to the famous elderly monk who resides there. If you would like to visit a temple whereby you will be the only farang (foreigner) there allowing you to really encapsulate the religious feeling floating through the complex, this place is for you.
The temple is beautiful, and so is the colourful main worship area whereby large numbers of Thai people on religious days will congregate to offer gifts to the monks namely in food, money and religious items. The area adjacent to this area is a covered museum free to walk around with the most amazing scope of artefacts and large donations.
In the same complex area is a massive carp feeding pond that must measure one acre in size, plus a small water tortoise feeding area and a historical artefact area with mainly broken items and old out-dated donations.
The beautiful temple complex is about 90 minutes from Bangkok. A taxi for the day is recommended.
